Description
A Sony Handycam HDR-CX380 Digital HD Video Camera Recorder (serial number 3173346) bundled with a Smith-Victor WM1 2.4GHz wireless microphone system and assorted accessories. The HDR-CX380, a model introduced in early 2013, features a 1/5.8-inch back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, Sony G Lens with 30x optical zoom (55x extended zoom), Optical SteadyShot with ActiForce stabilization, 16GB internal flash memory, 8.9-megapixel still capture, and a 3.0-inch Clear Photo LCD touchscreen. It records in Full HD 1920×1080 at 60p/24p in AVCHD or MP4 formats. Made in China and finished in the factory-standard black metallic flake, the camcorder incorporates a built-in USB cable within the hand strap and accepts InfoLITHIUM rechargeable battery packs rated at approximately 7.2V (NTSC). The HDR-CX380 represents the final generation of high-demand dedicated consumer camcorders, produced as smartphone and DSLR video capabilities began to supplant the segment. Sony Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, has been a dominant force in consumer video technology since the introduction of the original Handycam line in 1985.
The lot includes the Smith-Victor WM1 wireless lavalier microphone system in its original box (showing wear, tape residue, and handwritten notations), an unbranded shotgun-style microphone of unknown make, a Solidex cold-shoe camcorder accessory extension bar for simultaneous mounting of a light and microphone, a Patriot Micro SD adapter, an iHome adapter, a compact teal metallic flashlight of unidentified brand, assorted cables, and a black Case Logic carrying bag with zippered compartments. Smith-Victor, an American photography and lighting equipment firm established in 1874, designed the WM1 to operate on the 2.4GHz band to avoid UHF/VHF interference common in event recording environments. The inclusion of the extension bar and wireless microphone system suggests prosumer or enthusiast use, consistent with early content-creation or event-documentation applications. A retail price tag reading "0915010575 $219.95" likely reflects a September 2015 inventory or retail date and may indicate clearance or secondary-market pricing, well below the model's original $449.99 MSRP at launch. Condition is consistent with moderate use: the camcorder and accessories show general dust and handling marks, cables exhibit light wear, and the carrying bag displays minor creasing.
