Description
A vintage Luckicup Co. dice game set featuring the proprietary 'Yogi' game, comprising two injection-molded brown plastic dice cups, ten white dice with black pips, original score pads, and an instruction booklet covering ten games: Yogi, Boss Dice, Pee Wee, Ship Captain Mate and Crew, Elimination, Poker Dice, Twenty-One, Engineers Dice, Liars Dice, and Razzle Dazzle. The cups incorporate the patented internal horizontal ribbing described in U.S. Patent No. 3,269,732, granted August 30, 1966, to designer John G. MacPherson, intended to improve dice agitation and reduce the clatter associated with traditional leather cups per the patent specification. The Luckicup Co., an enterprise associated with Western Tool & Supply Co., originally operated from Oakland, California, before relocating to Richmond; the score card bears the printed address "Luckicup Co., 205 Nevin Ave., Richmond, CA" with a partially obscured ZIP code (948—), and one cup retains the molded "Luckicup" mark with registered trademark symbol and an "Oakland, Calif." designation, suggesting production spanning both locations. The box measures approximately 4 by 7½ inches and retains its original two-piece cardboard construction in red and white. Condition is good overall with light staining and foxing to the box lid, minor edge wear to the cardboard, and slight age-consistent yellowing to the paper components; cups and dice remain intact with no notable losses.
