This vintage 1972 M.J. Hummel annual collector plate, titled “Hear Ye, Hear Ye,” is the second issue in the original Goebel annual plate series introduced in 1971 and produced by W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik in West Germany, featuring a hand-painted bas-relief scene based on the artwork of Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel depicting a young boy dressed as a night watchman or lamplighter wearing a long blue coat with a yellow watch at his belt, brown hat, and striped scarf while blowing a horn and carrying both a halberd and illuminated lantern, with additional background elements including a small white building and star, all framed by a cream-toned border decorated with incised stars and the year “1972” displayed in red at the bottom; marked HUM 265 on the reverse, measuring approximately 7½ inches in diameter, and presented in good overall condition with light, age-appropriate wear.
