Description
This percussion instrument is a goblet-shaped darbuka associated with traditional music of North Africa and the Middle East. It features a metal body with a synthetic drumhead secured by hardware around the rim. It displays Arabic text reading “Jawhara” on the drumhead with a star-like decorative motif. It produces a range of tones characteristic of darbuka construction when struck at different areas of the head. It measures 16.5 inches in height and 10 inches in top diameter, and is in good condition.
