Description
Vintage automatic turntable manufactured by ELAC (Electroacustic GmbH), model Miracord 630, produced in Germany circa 1970–1972. This model is a well-regarded example of early 1970s German engineering, featuring a heavy zinc die-cast platter, four-pole asynchronous motor, and precision aluminum tonearm with integrated lift and antiskating. The Miracord 630 supports multiple operating modes including single play, changer, automatic, and continuous play, with selectable speeds of 16⅔, 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM. Control is via push-button operation. The tonearm allows fine adjustment of tracking force via spring mechanism, with a minimum tracking force of approximately 0.75 p. The platter measures 264 mm in diameter and contributes to low wow and flutter, rated at approximately 0.08% (DIN 45507). Rumble figures exceed 42 dB (weighted) and 60 dB (noise voltage), meeting DIN 45500 standards. Housed in a wooden plinth with hinged dust cover. Branded “Benjamin Miracord” badge present. Designed for use with standardized cartridge systems, originally offered with STS-244 or STS-344 cartridges (cartridge presence not guaranteed). Approximate dimensions: 14½" L × 17" W × 7½" H. Condition: Good vintage condition with expected cosmetic wear consistent with age; functionality not fully tested unless otherwise stated.
Condition
