Description
A Laughing Buddha figurine, also known as Hotei or Budai. The statue is carved from stone, possibly onyx or jade. The figure is based on an eccentric, wandering Chinese monk who lived around the 10th century and is believed to be an incarnation of Maitreya, the future Buddha. His large, round belly is a symbol of abundance, contentment, and tolerance, and rubbing it is believed to bring good luck and fortune. The statue is a widely recognized symbol of joy, happiness, good luck, wealth, and prosperity, often placed in homes, businesses, or offices to attract positive energy. 3" H x 3.5" W x 2" L Good condition.
