Description
An antique hand-painted porcelain creamer and sugar set, from the Nippon Era (1891–1921) of Japanese porcelain production. The style is very characteristic of items marked "Nippon," which were exported from Japan during a specific time frame when US law required imported goods to be marked with their country of origin. The set features a blue, white, and pink floral pattern with detailed gold trim along the rims, handles, and base of the pieces. The sugar bowl is lidded and both pieces have a somewhat bulbous, melon-like shape. It is made of porcelain, with a slightly iridescent or pearlescent finish. Container w/ lid: 3.5" H x 6.5" W; Smaller container: 5" L x 4" W Good condition.
