Description
Hand-signed limited edition lithograph depicting a satirical portrayal of the Dutch master Rembrandt van Rijn, shown with palette and brushes, with a reference to Aristotle with a Bust of Homer in the background. Executed in Charles Bragg’s characteristic humorous and caricature style, the composition is rendered in rich tonal hues of brown, gold, red, and black. The work is a true lithograph, not a photographic or digital reproduction, produced by photomechanical lithographic methods with artist approval at each stage of production. The print features full-bleed imagery with hand-deckled edges and is signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right. Edition number 70/300, from a total edition size of 462 including proofs. Printed in 1989 at J.K. Fine Arts. Accompanied by the original Dyansen Galleries Certificate of Authenticity and gallery label on the reverse. Presented in a gold-tone frame with matting. This item measures 37" L x 36.5" W and is in good condition.
