Description
A vintage "Star" metal clarinet, which was a student-model stencil instrument manufactured by the Cundy-Bettoney Company in the USA. The Cundy-Bettoney Company, based in Boston, Massachusetts, was a prolific maker of metal clarinets and produced many stencil models for other distributors. The "Three-Star" was their least expensive, student-grade model, and "Star" appears to be one of these stencil names. The body of the clarinet is made of metal, likely nickel silver or brass with silver plating. Metal clarinets were primarily manufactured between 1924 and 1939 for the American market, with production largely ending by the 1960s. 26" H x 2" W Good condition.
